Portsmouth City Council wants to make improvements to Tamworth Park in Baffins and is looking for residents’ views on some ideas.
The council is applying for outside funding, which is needed to make any improvements a reality, and is seeking people’s views to help with its funding bid.
The proposals include:
- Improving the existing pond area by creating a seasonal wildlife pond that holds water more effectively and supports wildlife
- Improving drainage to reduce flooding and waterlogging on paths
- Creating and improving wildflower and grassland habitats to support wildlife;
- Surface improvement to existing paths for accessibility
- Provision of a pond habitat/ species identification board by the pond
Portsmouth City Council Leader Cllr Steve Pitt said:
“We need local people’s feedback to help us understand how the park is currently used, to identify any issues people experience, and gauge how much support there is for the proposed improvements.”
